Identification Help
First look at what drives the mower deck. What takes power from the engine and and transfers it to the deck to make the blades turn? Belts? A drive shaft?

The Eagle, Red Rider, and other YR series mowers typically have a belt-driven deck while PTO, HPTO, and YHR mowers have a shaft-driven deck. The Eagle has the deck mounted out in front while the Red Rider (YR30) has its deck mounted under the center of the mower.

The bigger YR mowers (36 to 76 decks) can be identified by the tubular framing of the deck, (most bigger Yazoo riding mowers have a tubular frame, but the tubular deck frame is indicative of the YR mower).

If the deck is PTO driven (run by a driveshaft), look for a hydraulic filter and a hydro-pump. YHR mowers and HPTO mowers utilize a hydraulic pump which requires its own filter, while the regular PTO models have neither.
