Philosophy, Focus & Layout
The manufacturing facility in Beatrice focuses on our core competencies: welding, painting and assembly. All other operations are outsourced, as we believe that partnering with leading edge vendors will add the most value for the customer. Lean manufacturing is the guiding principle in everything we do.
State-of-the-art Paint System
The new powder coat paint system uses state-of-the-art “Light Curtain” technology and smart system capabilities for efficient application of powder by profiling each part as it moves through the booth.
Robotic Welding
In an effort to modernize and continuously improve quality control, we have invested in the latest robotic welding automation. Robots consistently do the same moves with the same gun angles and welding parameters decreasing welding time and welding splatter and producing consistent top quality results.
Inventory Management
Lean manufacturing is the guiding principle behind the design and layout of our facility. The Kanban “pull” system creates better communication between work cells and provides real-time inventory transactions. Most material handling associates use handheld computers or computers mounted on forklifts to capture activity.
Organization & Safety
Another important lean manufacturing initiative in place is the “5S” systematic housekeeping process designed to improve productivity, quality and safety by organizing and cleaning up. It involves organizing materials systematically so that they can be located quickly and removing things that are not frequently used.
